A major marketing exercise, which included taking to the streets of London as sponsors of the capital’s annual New Year’s Day parade, has paid dividends for Wink Bingo after an unprecedented 40,000 people were involved to win a Mini Cooper car.

Wink winners joined forces with promotional staff, paparazzi and even a branded mini in the New Year’s Day parade, when more than 300,000 people lined the streets to enjoy the start of the new year. This was the pinnacle of a campaign that included many different marketing channels all with the same goal of finding a winner for the Mini Cooper.

The car itself was ultimately won by a 29 year old lady from Castleford, West Yorkshire.

The success of the game comes at a boom time for online bingo. Wink Bingo recently reported a 29% surge in the number of people playing online since the freezing weather hit.

Winkbingo.com says it has seen an increase in players, including many people playing for the first time, across all of its games. Some regular, low cost entry games have seen an increase of more than 50% in the number of players logging on.
