Bingo HallGood news for lovers of bingo this year. After a tough 12 months of bingo hall closures and high taxes, it looks like things are about to change. A group of bingo supporters in Parliament have formed the ‘All Party Parliamentary Group on Bingo’ (APPG) an organisation seeking to change government policies. This dedicated group of lawmakers is trying to bring the high tax rate for bingo in line with taxation on other types of gambling. Incredibly, bingo halls pay the highest taxes of any type of gambling establishment.

Elsewhere, lovers of free online bingo can take comfort in the fact that bingo sites will be trying even harder to retain their custom, with bigger and better bonuses. It has been noted that bingo players switch sites on a regular basis, and more will be done to retain the custom of such players.

With the UK still feeling the effects of the recession, bingo players are on the lookout for long-term value, although most players see current loyalty schemes as inadequate.

We have heard on the grapevine that new games and better software will be launched, with spectacularly realistic casino and slot games. Better social networking opportunities lie in wait, as it has become apparent that players will also choose a site on the basis of how well they can make new friends.

It’s all good news for the bingo industry — here’s hoping the upward trend continues.
